FEDERATION OF PAKISTAN Versus YOUSAF ALI KHAN
ORDER
1. ANWARUL HAQ, J .-These proceedings, by way of action for contempt, were initiated against the respondent Mr. Yusuf Ali Khan, Bar-at-Law, on a petition moved in this behalf by the Federal Government on the basis of a letter addressed by the respondent on the 11th of May 1973 to the then President of Pakistan, now the Prime Minister. In this letter, the respondent had made certain disparaging remarks against the former Chief Justice of this Court. Mr. Justice Mahmondur Rehman.
2. In reply to the show-cause notice, the respondent has submitted a written statement, which concludes with the remarks that "the respondent respectfully begs to withdraw the contents marked 'A' to 'B' mentioned above".
3. At the hearing of this matter, the respondent has further clarified his desire to unconditionally withdraw the offending remarks and has reiterated his regard for the superior Courts of the country.
4. We accept the unconditional apology tendered by the respondent and discharge the notice.
5. Notice discharged.
