This is an appeal brought under section 30 of the Workmen's Compensation Act against the order dated 24‑3‑1985 passed by the learned Commissioner for Workmen's Compensation, Faislabad granting Rs. 15,000 to the respondent as the amount of group insurance for the death of her husband Khurshid Shah. The respondent has received Rs.7,500 as the insurance amount out of Court and claims Rs. 7.500 more contending that she was entitled to Rs.15,000. None has appeared for the respondent even though notice has been served. The appeal therefore, has been heard ex parte 2. According to Notification No. SO‑VI(LG) 1(47)/76, dated 16‑1‑1980 para 4. insurance amount for employees upto NPS‑4 is Rs.75,000 and not Rs.15,000. The respondent stated that she did not know in which scales the deceased was but her witness Matloob Ali Shah (PW‑9) stated that the deceased was in Grade No. 2. So, the group insurance amount could be Rs.7,500 and not Rs.15,000. Since the respondent admitted in her statement that she had been paid Rs.7,500. She could not bring petition for claiming Rs.7,500 more.

3. As a result, the appeal is accepted ex parte and holding that the group insurance amount is Rs.7,500, the order of the learned Commissioner is set aside and the petition of the respondent is dismissed.
