ORDER

1. It is submitted by the learned counsel that the petitioners belong to a respectable family and have committed no offence nor have violated any law and despite that they and their family members are being constantly harassed by the respondent-S.H.O. Police Station Civil Line, Lahore. A prayer has therefore, been made for grant of protection so that they may live in peace alongwith their family members and attend to their day to day affairs without any fear or disturbance. Learned Law Officer does not oppose this petition provided, of course, the petitioners are not involved in the commission of some offence. Learned counsel 'for the petitioners is in agreement and is fully! satisfied with this statement. Needless to say that the respondent, Police Officer is bound to protect life, liberty and property of the citizens including A the petitioners. In other words, the police shall not be permitted to take law into their own hands by causing undue harassment to the petitioners. Nevertheless, they shall be duty bound to take action, in case, they find that the petitioners were wanted by them in some criminal case. With these remarks, this petition is disposed of.
